Well, Here We Are

To be quite honest I was rather skeptical about this project from the moment it was first announced several weeks ago. The idea of replacing that other site and gathering together many of the lost members seemed a tad optimistic. I did however, follow along as progress updates were given. Hoping against hope that there might be some measure of success, I began to be drawn into the ever rising tide of anticipatory excitement as things moved along.

Once it was announced that the site was indeed user ready I immediately jump into the mix. Upon arrival I found a few old familiar names, some I haven't seen in some time. I must say that my heart skipped a beat upon seeing silverwhisper's name among the first few members. I had been many months since I last saw him around.

A few of the usual political suspects had already arrived as well along with one or two names I did not recognise. Within a few short hours however it seemed someone had opened the floodgates and many familiar names began to appear.

This morning as I logged in I noticed a few more unfamiliar names, but also many more familiar ones.

By mid-afternoon it felt like old home week. I simply cannot remember the last time I saw infernal, a year maybe. Polar showed up as well as Skald, my dear Icelandic friend. Destiny, twyla (now twirlie), queenie, ginger and many others I hadn't seen is a while have joined our ranks. D6fer of course had a hand in getting this thing going as I understand so I wasn't surprised to find him here.

There are of course many old friends missing, some of whom may never find us again. The thing is, I do believe that this site has already proven successful.

Thank you yakkster and friends for providing a new home for a bunch of lost and wandering souls. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Aww, you're so sweet, soaring! :) I missed you...I missed out on a lot. I 'ghosted' the halls over there for a while, off and on, but had gotten frustrated.

Now...homecoming. :)

you're right soaring, the 'flood gates' opened when a message went round facebook that this site was up and running. allot of us from sc have kept in touch there, but it's nothing like this type of experience so we were all excited to see if it would work out. looks like it's off to a great start :-)

skald - yes a great reunion, and I stopped by botoni's posst to say hi.

infernal - I kinda figured you might be around, I ghosted that other place for a while as well, I did make a few comments here and there but it was most frustrating.

ejprice - Utter and absolute rubbish! You belong here as much as any of us and we will enjoy getting to know you while you try to tolerate our nonsense. You are in no wise intruding, you are joining, and you are quite welcome.

I was a little skeptical at first too, but like you I followed along. Word of mouth got me here today. It's been nice to see so many people I haven't seen in a while.

I enjoy meeting the new people too. That's what keep us fresh. The other place lacked that in the end.

trav - I was wondering just how it happened that so many showed uo in such short order. It is good to know that so many have kept in touch through other means.

CW - I feel quite the same way, no community can thrive without regular infusions of fresh citizens.

don't thank me....I was merely yakkstr's biggest cheerleader! I knew if the call went out, eventually it would get answered. I knew we had some talented people around us at SC who could do it.

And as they said in the movie "Build it and they will come!"

I think it's great that this project was started and mostly everyone is gathering here. Makes this place feel like home already.

Well I suppose, since you are arm twisting and all. What I will actually do is tell a little story about a series of little events that took place earlier today. I hope that is OK. To begin with I had the pleasure of entertaining my three youngest read the rest

Actually if I were on trial I would be little concerned about what may or may not be decorating the walls of the courtroom or standing at the entrance of the building. I would be more concerned about whether or not the judge, jury and council on both read the rest

I quite frankly don't actually give a care what may or may not be found hanging on the walls or standing in a corner of any building I enter whether publicly or privately owned. When I enter a building it is generally for a specific purpose and the only read the rest
