How Did Atheists Survive The Funeral?

The hours the three major cable news agencies viewed Whitney Houston's funeral did the atheists in the country have to bury their heads in the sand or God forbid turn the channel over to animal planet? Technically somehow the Constitution claims freedom from religion so how exactly did all that religious stuff make it onto national television? This must have been like a vampire holding a magnifier up to the sun to atheists.

I am glad to turn on the news an find not one single atheist was hurt or killed as a result of the actions of Fox news, CNN, and MSNBC. Everyone seems to have survived, at least mentally and physically, I can't say spiritually though. :)

Hey, I heard a clip of Bob Scheiffer, on CBS Sunday morning, grilling Santorum because everyone (mistakenly) thought Santorum had questioned Obama's Christianity. When did anyone on CBS ever give a crap about Christianity? Only when they can use it to their advantage. And when did Bob Scheiffer become such a Liberal dick?

The networks aren't owned by the government and therefore can broadcast nearly anything.

reckoner said 3 months ago ...

why in the world would we care what they do for Whitney Houston's funeral?

outlander said 3 months ago ...

Well I figure "under God" in the pledge has a chance of indoctrinating schools kids so by that rationale hours of religous expression being flooded on three national TV stations must be a threat to the whole country.

reckoner said 3 months ago ...

Clearly you've failed to understand the difference between private expression and government funded expression of religiosity.

ignatz said 3 months ago ...

So much hate for atheists and liberals. What did I ever do to you? Can't we just all get along?

outlander said 3 months ago ...

ignatz-Not as long as atheists keep fighting a petty war against Christians and Jews.

ignatz said 3 months ago ...

Who said I'm fighting a war? I'm just living, with my (lack of) beliefs, in a nice little suburb. Nice to meet you.

beyondtheveil said 3 months ago ...

I didn't watch Whitney's funeral, but then I don't watch anyone's funeral unless I'm there. If I had watched it, I would fully expect for them to conduct it in a manner Whitney would have wanted. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

outlander said 3 months ago ...

ignatz-On this blog site we I have pointed out how "under God" in the pledge is somehow offensive but a Islamic indoctrination song isn't. Nice to meet you.

beyond-this is more of a making fun of the "freedom from religion" claim by atheists. I don't believe anyone can be forced into religion in this country and I also don't think anyone can escape from seeing all religion in this county either because we are a religious country.

reckoner said 3 months ago ...

Didn't. Sean and I say the Muslim song shouldn't be allowed

outlander said 3 months ago ...

Yes an I clearly made the claim take the Islam out and replace it with Christian and the song would still be prohibited. You guys go on to claim the song is similar to Christian Christmas music. The big problem though here is how did the song make it into the school?

My grandson's school is neutral, no Christmas trees or lights, but they sing slightly religious songs about all religions. Atheists have destroyed Christmas on one hand but allow this Muslim song on the other. And everyone gets pissed at me when I call them troublemakers?

reckoner said 3 months ago ...

How did atheists allow this song? That doesn't make any sense.

outlander said 3 months ago ...

All these complaints and lawsuits calling for the removal of just the word "God" from public schools and then the Muslim song which no only says "God" but says Allah and used over and over an Islamic word for whorship of God and silence. This song should not have made it into that school.

reckoner said 3 months ago ...

"This song should not have made it into that school."

We agree, but that has nothing to do with atheists. Atheists didn't put the song there. Atheists didn't sign off on any kind of approval. This idea that atheists "allowed" it doesn't make any sense.
