So my weekend before my birthday has gone uneventfully. Plenty of time to relax, but then I haven't felt like doing a whole lot either. Today we're going over to my mom's in a couple hours so we can go out to eat somewhere for my birthday. We'd normally stay at the house and she'd cook but my aunt is sick and none of us want to be around that virus any longer than we have to. The real challenge though, will be finding something I can eat, that's appetizing and fulfilling ... but that will get along with my having had a tooth pulled Friday.
It's not been as bad as I expected, admittedly, but it's had it's moments of utter discomfort. I think the real disadvantage has been that it is limiting what I can do in that I can't drink (was really wanting to get together with a few friends and have a couple and just have a good time), can only eat soft stuff and need to stick near my ice packs. My Tylenol 3's have been helping, but I don't want to take them all day for fear of being groggy and knocked out throughout the whole day. Today is already an improvement to the last two though, so I'm optimistic that I won't spend my whole 5 day vacation feeling 'blah'.
More than anything I'm feeling some real cabin fever ... I'm just sick and tired of being in the house! So the outing with my mom is totally welcome. Also, on a good note, she'll get her last antibiotic infusion today before we go, and then we have to be sure to have her back a little before 5 so she can have her picc line removed. She's expecting to go back to work Thursday. All I can hope at this point is that she's not pushing it too fast and will be OK. Time will tell.
Overall, a pretty decent weekend despite having had a tooth out on Friday... how about you?
Playing "ketchup" (ha) as usual, but sorry about the misery of having a tooth taken out, but Happy Birthday to our hegemone!
My weekend sucked, as always. Hubby sick with a virus and me glued to the tv wrapped in a blanket being quiet when not playing nursemaid. Well, actualy I guess that wasn't so bad....
I'll be sending good mojo for your mom.
