I don't know if you can really count teen pregnancy rates as such. Perhaps more teens in red states choose pregnancy over abortion. I'm sceptical about charitable contributions also. What it should read is taxable contributions that you can write off on your taxes. For example, Obama donated his nobel prize earnings to charity but wasn' t able to claim it as a deduction. The government works in mysterious ways. That being said I do think it's a mistake for Santorum to focus on religion. We need someone with a positive unifying message who is going to bring the country together, not divide us further than we already are. Sometimes when I watch Obama's speeches lately, I see little glimmers that he's finally trying to do that. I also see Romney doing that on occasion. I'm hoping whoever will be elected in November will continue on that path.

Santorum is being honest about who he is and what he thinks. If he did not make his position clear now, he would regret it later because the Liberal media would use it against him. Obama has all kinds of crap in his background like Communist relatives, Muslims, and Racist churches. Why do you not bring that up? Santorum has a long way to go before he is anywhere as near the bottom as Obama. I find it hard to cut Catholics much slack as Christians considering their zombie-like allegience to the Liberal / Democrat / Socialist Party. I am not doubting that Catholicism is a Christian belief. I am doubting that most American Catholics are actually believers in their own faith, if they can compromise their beliefs by voting for someone like Obama, who turns on them at the first opportunity.

Santorum is showing us what he believes and being honest and I'm glad. Because you're right and if we're ever going to convice the social right that they're causes are dead, their time has passed it would be easier to show them after America rejects them in a way that they can't deny. We didn't somehow beat them because Democrats are better moderates and liberals than Republicans but because that far right social beliefs have been rejected by America as a whole.
