My advance apologies if this blog will be erratic and illogical mid-way...
I'm SO tired, that my brain hurts. Lately, I'm saying this more and more.
It's because with the littlest going to Groep 1, what you can say an equivalent of Kindergarden, life has gotten a lot busier. One would thing that now that the youngest of the family is not at home, I would have "more time". Think, again. lol

Today, I went with Littlest group to the children's theater. It was fantastic. I love, love, love hearing children laugh, giggle, and simply express their innocent reaction. The play was entitled Buurman en Buurvrouw (Male Neighbour and Female Neighbour literal translation, OR simply Neighbours).
Since it was geared for children from 4 years old, it had a lot of physical comedy, and there were very few dialogue if at all. I love that they used a lot of different musical instruments on stage, which they asked the children to name after the performace. I'll edit some pictures later, after I have cooked dinner. The musicians were two gentlemen, who were also on stage, and sitted between the two carton houses of the Buurman en Buurvrouw .
In the middle of writing this blog, I found out that the theater group has a Website! If you scroll down you will see a youtube clip on the site, and also a dia-show of the pictures from their performance. I'll still add pictures I took this morning but you have to be patient. :)
I'm also embedding the clip here for more convenience.
This is the version without the musicians onstage, which is how we experienced it today. Oh, I was able to take a video, with the children laughing, so I might share that, too later.
The plot is simple. It's about two neighbours, the male neighbour is creature of habit, and has a fixed daily routine. The female neighbour just moved in, and is completely different from him and his structured ways. Both are very shy, and did not know what say to each other? In their gardens, they look after their flowers, feedhe birds and peeking at each other without exchanging a word.
Eventually they started communicating through their shared interests - gardening, flowers, birds etc. After a misunderstanding, which made the female neighbour decide to move out of her home, male neighbour finally got over his shyness and stiffness and reached out to female neighbour. Ending with a shared flower each of them took care of, a kiss and a warm hug.
Great Valentine's Day musical play! :)
Sounds like a very sweet play, and even sweeter enjoying it among all the young ones.
