Achilles was a Greek warrior who fought in the Trojan war. His mother was a nymph named Thetis. When Achilles was a child she dipped him into the River Styx in the underworld to make him immortal but she held him by his heel and that part of his body remained mortal. During the Trojan War the Trojan Paris fired an arrow at Achille's heel and killed him. This is from a site i was reading about Myth's.
We all have an Achille's heel ,mine has been the way i worked to earn my living together with believing my body wouldn't break down through hard work ,but that has been one of my achille's heels and to talk about how i feel about my health issues isn't something that i find that rolls of my tongue it's quite personal,so i'm awake at 2.30 in the morning and i'v read the news on several sites i frequent and i ended on Yakkstr and started to think about my achille's .
Before, i felt my hearing loss ''due to who know's what exactly''i felt that it was the achille's heel of me ,but now i have got many more things with my health that are eroding my once healthy body and my deafness isn't an achilles heel any more, funnyly i seem to be entering into a stage where one might be comfortable because the mob are all suffering hearing loss or nearly all are, so to be wearing a hearing aid you don't stand out any more.
Blue.
As we age we realise our achille's grows... moves around a bit, was there, now its there as well if you know what I mean.
My achillie's has always been my spine.
You know they say when you lose one sense another takes up the slack, do you smell better? see better? taste better?
