I was reading an article about Ellen DeGeneres being the new sponser for JCpenny and how a conservative group called One Millions Moms wants Ellen to be fired because she is gay. As a Conservative I am appalled at this because just being gay is not a valid reason to exclude someone for a job. Ellen DeGeneres is probably one of the least offending and most adored people in the world. She's not a radical and hasn't done anything to deserve such scorn.
When people see Ellen they see a very funny upbeat person who makes people laugh, likes to dance, and loves animals. If Ellen was caught in a public sex act like George Michael I could see people putting up a stink but it shouldn't have anything to do with being gay or straight. Throwing down in a public restroom is not the visual companies like JCpenny want to put out there, be it gay or not gay.
As a Conservative I am appalled people in my party are this narrowminded. Our girls should aspire to be like Ellen and not because she is gay because she is very successful and loved by a lot of people. Are kids going to turn gay if they see Ellen is JCpenny ad? Foolish and just plain sad logic.
