I don't have anything really positive to say so I'll scrape a few things together and see how it goes.
I was talking to PB on the phone at work the other day. He misses me. He doesn't say that, but even though our jobs sometime overlap he calls me way more than that. So we're chatting and I ask him if he's made a decision on what kind of car to buy to replace the one that got wrecked. He said he was looking at a BMW with a "sexy" red interior. I was happy to find that it is a less powerful model than the last one. Maybe he wont get so many tickets this way. So ......... always one to find the angle or leverage a friendship I mention that my high school reunion is coming up and since he's probably going to get the sexy car would he mind if I borrowed it that weekend?
Never in a million years would I expect him to say yes. I mean, we're friends, but a car is a big ticket item. He, without hesitation, said yes!!! I told him it was okay to say no and he still said yes. So, barring any complications to his purchasing the car, I'm going to my reunion in something a few steps above the Kia that I drive! :)
I went back to my doctor because the meds for blood pressure weren't working, especially at work. We talked about it and he put me on a combination of two meds. It's in one pill so thankfully I don't have to remember two pills. I was leery of it at first, and the first day was rough, but today I feel pretty good other than a little tired. I'm not sure how great a job it's doing, but can live with this one.
I had a one on one date arranged by the agency. We met at a restaurant and after an hour (we met for drinks) I begged of on the excuse that it was a weeknight. I loved the valet parking that was cheap, loved the people at the bar I met while waiting and the food was pretty good too. My date ....... he's a nice man. I think he is missing a sense of humor though and he's a bit dull. He was wearing a full beard and all I could think of was the little ewoks from Star Wars. He kept tugging at it while we were talking. The agency said he thought the night went very well and that he wanted to see me again. I explained that I really didn't think there was a lot of potential there. Not a bad night, got to wear a pretty dress and eat a nice meal.
I saw the most beautiful sunset that I've seen in a long time when I was driving to the dinner. I came around the point of the SF bay peninsula just as the sun was setting and it was a pretty soft pink sunset. Not only was the sky all aglow with pin, but the water was also reflecting it and look as if the water was pink!!! The Candlestick stadium and edge of the city looked soft and pretty in the pink glow in the distance. If it wasn't a 12 lane hwy I would have stopped to take a picture.
My daughter invited me to attend an academic awards ceremony for the competitions she's been doing. She probably knows more about everything now than I ever dreamed of when I was in college. I believe she will place and get a medal. Afterwards if she and my son have time I'd like to treat them to dinner before I get back home.
So these are the things that make me happy right now. I'm going to live in denial about my car making funny sounds, my taxes needing filing and my less great days physically. I plan to do laundry and waste some time this weekend when I'm not at the awards ceremony. Perhaps buy some great dark chocolate. :)
Well I hope you have a good relaxing weekend. Hope your not so little little one brings home the gold.
