It all started two weeks ago I woke out of a sound sleep with a dizzy spell that made everything spin in circles. My boyfriend took me to the emergency room and they told me it was vertigo. The next day I woke with a horrible headache that would not go away. It lasted for two weeks starting as a mild headache then into a headache out of this world, nothing would make it go away.
I went to the doctors and he gave me some medication to try and told me to take two or three and if that didn't work call him back and he would arrange a cat scan. So I tried the medication and it didn't help at all and after the cat scan, that night I woke with my headache on a scale 1 to 10 was a 12 and I couldn't see out of my left eye. My boyfriend rushed me up to the hospital thinking I might be having a stroke.. We got to the hospital at 5:30 in the morning and they some tests on me. They gave me a spinal tap so they could test for lime disease and other things, then an MRI to check my brain to make sure I didn't have any tumors or evidence of a stroke.
All of my tests came back normal and we were very relieved when we found out. They told us that they believed it is migraines and gave me migraine medicine and my headache was gone in minutes. We finally got to leave the hospital at 2:30 in the afternoon and it was out of this world that I finally got relief. I have my life back now and can enjoy it with my boyfriend without a headache interfering. Life is so nice now that things are back to normal.
I'm glad you're feeling better but I'm dismayed that they did a Cat scan, spinal tap and checked for lime disease BEFORE thinking about migraines!
