My mind is racing, and aching from all the thoughts and impressions that are storming towards my frontal lobe; I am tempted to sleep, and forget everything around me, and all the responsabilities of the day.
I might give in for the need to escape, at least catch a 15-20 minutes nap to restart my brain to 0.
Meanwhile I still have to wait until the chicken soup on the stove is done (actually the smell from the kitchen is making my tummy growl even though we just had tea and scones!), set the table for the girls, and prepare potato gratin for dinner.

Tuesday
The recipe is very easy, a variation of this Homemade Chicken Soup recipe, adding some other ingredients and not using the 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules as suggested.
Ingredients:
Chicken
2 large carrots
- 1 leek
- 1 celery
- 1 fennel
- 1 onion
I forgot to get the bay leaves, oregano, which gives this soup a stronger taste. As it is, it has a sweeter taste, and if you prefer it stronger, you could add some drops of table soy sauce.
- salt
- pepper
I do not add again the chopped veggies I used to simmer with the chicken as the recipe on the link suggested but chop new ones, and simmer it once again to the shredded chicken meat for 20 minutes.
When I am about to serve it to the family, it is only then I'll add the vermicelli, and let it simmer again for 8-10 minutes (I use different kind of noodle, pasta, rice etc, so it depends on each of their cooking time when I add it).
Here is the image of the soup preparation:
I'll add in about an hour the image of the finished soup.
:)
Do you have any homemade chicken soup recipe to share? Or of your favourite soup you cook/eat when you are not feeling well?
I am hoping I can share here at least one soup I serve the family each week.

Yumm...
Here's my take. You get chicken quarters (bone in for the flavour), brown them in a pot, pull them out, cube carrots, onions and potatos and celery, cook in the chicken fat, put the chicken back in, cover with water, throw in a couple of Japanese curry cubes (they come with all the spices already mixed in... Be careful though! They look like bars of milk chocolate but you don't want to take a bite!), bring it to simmer, salt and pepper to taste. Once it cools a little bit, it'll thicken like stew.
Get a plate of plain white rice (medium grain please... None of that long grain stuff), pour generously over the top. Enjoy!
