The Old Grind With an End at the Handle?

Well, I did it. I reapplied to my same old job, and dang it, they called me. Things have changed and improved there, and I don't mind it at all, actually. I have something to do and will stick as much of my pay into my savings as I can. (saving my nuts for winter again)

I was interviewed for an office position as well, which surprised me a little. Well, maybe more than a little, even though I have the background for what they wanted. They pushed back the time they want to deal with someone in training, though. Therefore, I ended up back being a drone--if a somewhat content one. We'll see on that one in a few weeks maybe.

The worst part about the job?

I didn't do what I said I would, which is to hang with my writing and not have to go back to work anywhere. I guess I was just dreaming. I have no one to blame but myself for that. Wonder how I'll do next go 'round?

At least I got listed as "seasonal" and they know I'll be out of there in a few months just like always. And they'll keep taking me back if I need to.

So--if I want to look at it that way----working only 6 months out of the year and being able to get by is not bad at all. And I don't have to worry about what will happen to me as long as I keep my nose clean. Maybe this is my year to crack the whip on myself so I don't have to do it in 2012.

At least until November 21st! (the next predicted end of the grind handle)

Well, glad to see you in such good spirits about it. I hope you continue to enjoy yourself and are able to reach your writing goal next round.

hegemone: Yea, I guess it's a relief off my mind worrying about my savings dwindling and having a not so joyous job. But it wasn't that bad going back. I still kick myself in the butt for not trying harder, but oh well....I'll try to work on my writing still, now that the hours aren't so bad as last time. Someday I will finish that dang book!

Don't know what you job entails, but you sound ok with it , air of contentment which tells me, your getting 3 feeds a day and a bed to sleep in .

Blue.

starchini: Well, it is good to work only 6 months out of the year, but I really, really have to work, when I do.

bluegum: My job entails crazy hours and not much fun--unless you count being a people watcher. Three feeds a day? Too tired to eat, but boy, do I love my bed to sleep in!

There are always so many wonderful stories on news blurbs about people with disabilities who are leading more productive lives and more fulfilling (and happier) lives than others who have none. Most times I feel ashamed to be complaining about a back read the rest

I like rituals, too. They give you a sense that everything is ok and sort of "on schedule" in life. Every day of the week here with us has it's own "feel" because of what we do. I guess people have continued the tradition from the weekly "Saturday read the rest

Gay Marriage
I listened to a discussion about it and one speaker brought up something interesting. They reminded people of the custom of some cultures to have more than one wife--which redefines the definition of "marriage" at least for those cultures. I don't know read the rest

Yes, I saw the "supermoon" but only after it had cleared the treeline. I have seen it before on the horizon, and I thought it was the end of the world or something that time! (not knowing ahead of time) And now you must forgive me as I hang my head read the rest
