Well, I did it. I reapplied to my same old job, and dang it, they called me. Things have changed and improved there, and I don't mind it at all, actually. I have something to do and will stick as much of my pay into my savings as I can. (saving my nuts for winter again)
I was interviewed for an office position as well, which surprised me a little. Well, maybe more than a little, even though I have the background for what they wanted. They pushed back the time they want to deal with someone in training, though. Therefore, I ended up back being a drone--if a somewhat content one. We'll see on that one in a few weeks maybe.
The worst part about the job?
I didn't do what I said I would, which is to hang with my writing and not have to go back to work anywhere. I guess I was just dreaming. I have no one to blame but myself for that. Wonder how I'll do next go 'round?
At least I got listed as "seasonal" and they know I'll be out of there in a few months just like always. And they'll keep taking me back if I need to.
So--if I want to look at it that way----working only 6 months out of the year and being able to get by is not bad at all. And I don't have to worry about what will happen to me as long as I keep my nose clean. Maybe this is my year to crack the whip on myself so I don't have to do it in 2012.
At least until November 21st! (the next predicted end of the grind handle)
Well, glad to see you in such good spirits about it. I hope you continue to enjoy yourself and are able to reach your writing goal next round.
