Well, my credit card is smoking a little from overuse. Man, I love online shopping. Really seriously love it. There are several quilting fabric websites that smile when they see me coming.
I spent a couple hours cutting fabric -- let's just say there are several friends who will be getting something from me in the mail, or maybe I should make you wait until Christmas... LOL I had a quilt started, all the fabric cut and some of the blocks done when I looked at the colors and decided why I was unenthusiastic about working on it. I seem to be having an issue with orange and turquoise (or is it aqua? I never know.) So I put it away and am now happily immersed in dark green, red, and black. Then there's purple, green and white.
I spent money today on something I'm trying for the first time. I joined a Block of the Month program. At the end of six months, I will hopefully have a bed size quilt top that looks halfway decent. Every month I'll get the fabric for two blocks. We'll see if I can keep up. LOL Or if I even use the fabric for the blocks. I'm notorious for buying fabric for one thing and end up using it for something else entirely. Lately I've been into making bags -- lots of tote bags and a couple of cosmetic bags. Fairly quick gratification -- not a lot of money or time invested. I even made one for myself with bright colors and all my Beatles themed fabric.
My daughter and several others have suggested I sell them. She said they remind her of Vera Bradley bags. I was totally lost -- no idea who Vera Bradley is. I did finally see some of her bags -- quilted bags that cost a boatload of money. I think I missed the boat when it comes to ambition and marketing skills. Ah well.
Well, so nothing big going on here. Just part of my day.
Money spent on your fabrics is a good thing. Yes, maybe you can sell your bags too. The main thing is that you are doing wonderful things. I don't know either who Vera Bradley is. I don't seem to know anyone famous these days. Only the old ones. lol Have a very good weekend dear Mimi.
