I used to watch in younger days a lot of documentaries on nature. Partly because my grandmother but
mostly because those were the days that we had just immigrated to the U.S. running away from communism.
She would just sit there and watch the nature show oblivious to the English that was coming out of the television.
Many years passed and the habit was well established with me. Everywhere I go I notice whatever nature
I can in the background of whatever place I'd be at the moment...outside of course as it's hard to find
too much of Mother Nature inside buildings except for potted plants and such and there's not too much
to watch for there except for the natural beauty of whatever plant I'd be looking at. As a security
guard the biggest part of my time is spent outside and within certain parameters as defined by the
client so it's not like I can go into the woods and loose myself there like I used to do in younger
days in New York State.
But I still get to have a peek at Mother Nature and her creations....however small they may be. Like
little lizards and stuff and seeing how they cope and hunt for food and sustenance. I saw a small
scorpion even and when I find the pic of the scorpion I will post it but here's a couple of the little hunter lizard.
I also get to see the awesomeness of Mother Nature and the world we live in by watching and admiring the
sunsets and sometimes (depending on my shift) the sunrise.
And then there's the also the display of one of Mother Nature's awesome powers called.......... "Lightning"........... If you look closely you can see burn marks at the top near the split and the metal rod used to secure the tree when it was planted. Except for the metal bar that's a common practice here in South Florida where the top soil is not very deep and turns into rocky bottom but securing the tree with metal rods is not really common practice....the real common practice is using anything that's cheap and accessible to keep the operating costs down.

Isn't nature amazing?
